Why not just print your own QR code?

You can point a QR code to a form or web page, but then you own everything behind it: activation, privacy, owner accounts, Finder messaging, notifications, support, abuse handling, and long-term hosting. With find1, each code connects to a purpose-built recovery experience.

That matters because privacy-conscious travelers often do not want their phone number, email, or home address printed directly on a visible luggage tag.

Genuine find1 activation

Real find1-powered products activate only through official find1 pages.

Partners must use official find1 activation URLs and may not send customers to third-party activation sites, fake login pages, or forms that collect customer contact or recovery information outside the find1 flow.

Customers should always check that the activation page is on find1.io before entering information. If a tag or seller sends them somewhere else, they should stop and report it to find1.

Is this only for luggage?

Luggage is the main focus, but find1 codes can also work for backpacks, pet carriers, camera bags, sports equipment, student travel bags, and other personal items that may be lost and found.

Why is find1 free for travelers but paid for partners?

Personal use is free: individual travelers can register and print their own find1 inserts at no cost to protect their own belongings. The Partner Program is for commercial use. If you are selling find1-powered physical products to customers, partner pricing helps cover the activation system, recovery workflow, privacy controls, finder experience, notifications, and support behind every activated tag.

What kind of support is included?

Partner Free is designed to be self-serve. It includes access to the Partner Dashboard, standard documentation, and support for account, billing, and platform issues. Partner Pro includes priority support for partners selling regularly, along with larger batches, stronger branding controls, custom landing copy, a custom Support page, and CSV tools. find1 does not provide unlimited design review, production consulting, marketplace support, or custom manufacturing help as part of Partner Free.

Can I use my own activation website?

No. Customer activation must happen through official find1 pages. Partners may link to their own store, support page, or product instructions, but they may not collect find1 activation, login, owner contact, or recovery information outside the official find1 flow.

What happens if there is a billing dispute or chargeback?

A payment dispute or chargeback may result in immediate suspension of Partner features, including code generation, batch exports, custom branding, directory placement, and future access to the Partner Program. Partners should contact find1 support first to resolve billing questions.

Can I call myself an official find1 partner?

Partners may describe products as “powered by find1” when they use valid find1 codes and follow the Partner Program rules. Partners may not claim to be find1, represent themselves as find1 employees, or use terms like “official,” “certified,” or “verified” unless find1 has explicitly granted that status.

What quality standards do Partner products need to meet?

Partners are responsible for producing tags that are durable, readable, and easy for customers to activate. Every find1-powered product should include a scannable QR code, a visible short find1 link as backup text, and clear activation instructions. The code should have enough contrast and spacing to scan reliably, and the tag material, printing, engraving, or attachment method should be suitable for normal travel use. Partners should test each design before selling it. If a tag cannot be scanned because of size, contrast, material choice, wear, damage, or production quality, that is a partner production issue rather than a find1 platform issue.
